CHINA - The Chinese state propaganda outlet Global Times has published an incendiary column claiming that the Chinese public “really detest US reconnaissance” in Asia and “actually wanted” China to shoot down a US reconnaissance plane dangerously intercepted over the weekend. The Global Times called the Pentagon’s objection to the outrageous aerial move “ridiculous” and demanded the United States cease all intelligence operations in the region.
USA - At Jef Boeke's lab, you can whiff an odor that seems out of place, as if they were baking bread here. But he and his colleagues are cooking up something else altogether: yeast that works with chunks of man-made DNA.
USA - We are living in the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world. In 1980, total government and personal debt in the United States was just over the 3 trillion dollar mark, but today it has surpassed 41 trillion dollars. That means that it has increased by almost 14 times since Ronald Reagan was first elected president. I am searching for words to describe how completely and utterly insane this is, but I am coming up empty. We are slowly but surely committing national suicide, and yet most Americans don’t even understand what is happening. According to 720 Global, total government debt plus total personal debt in the United States was just over 3 trillion dollars in 1980. That broke down to $38,552 per household, and that figure represented 79 percent of median household income at the time. There is no way that this is going to end well.
ISRAEL - Although for a moment it seemed that the metal detector crisis had ended Monday night, with the removal of the electronic gates and cameras from the entrances to the Temple Mount, we are evidently still in the midst of an impasse that may last for quite some time.
ISRAEL - The Israeli government missed the point of Palestinian anger directed at metal detectors placed at entrances to the Temple Mount and, having misdiagnosed the situation, made a decision that failed to resolve the crisis and has only made it worse. At least, that’s what many of the Muslim protesters in the streets of Jerusalem’s Old City have been saying since the metal detectors were removed early Tuesday morning.
ISRAEL - Some 2,000 members of the Hamas terror group marched in the Gaza Strip Wednesday to mark “victory” after Israel removed contested metal detectors from entrances to the Temple Mount a day earlier in a bid to calm tensions. The group also called for a fresh “day of rage” throughout the West Bank on Friday to protest continued Israeli security measures at the site. The group urged Palestinians to “respond to the ongoing events in order to deter Israel from continuing its violations against our people and holy places,” according to Israel’s Channel 2. It was the second week in a row the Palestinian terrorist group made such a call.
EUROPE - Radical Islamist movement Hamas has been officially declared a terrorist organization by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) after judges in the European Union’s most senior court ruled the group should remain on an EU-wide terror blacklist.
EUROPE - Europe’s top court this morning threw a spanner in the works of Brussels’ attempts to resolve the migrant crisis by ruling that member states have the power to deport asylum seekers back to the first EU country they entered.
USA - Hollywood stars took to social media Wednesday to express outrage over President Donald Trump’s announcement that transgender people will not be allowed to serve in the US military, reversing former President Obama’s decision last year allowing them to do so. “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the US Military,” President Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical cost and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”
ISRAEL - Netanyahu has strongly advocated for the bill declaring Israel to be the Jewish state, and even tried unsuccessfully to make sure it would pass a first reading in the Knesset before it adjourns for its summer recess at the end of this week, saying “this a central matter; it is the essence of our existence.”
ISRAEL - Israel’s security cabinet has decided to remove metal detectors from the entrance to a holy site in Jerusalem following days of violent clashes. They are to be replaced by “smart cameras” to monitor worshippers at the al-Aqsa Mosque, which sits on the site known as Temple Mount by Jews and the Haram al-Sharif by Muslims. The decision was announced at the end of a meeting of Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet lasting several hours, following a previous round of discussions on Sunday.
USA - The Islamic Center of Davis, California, has defended Imam Ammar Shahin over a sermon last Friday in which he quoted an antisemitic text and prayed for Allah to “annihilate” Jews “down to the very last one.” In a statement issued Tuesday morning, and e-mailed to Breitbart News, the mosque claimed that Shahin’s sermon was quoted out of context, and lashed out against “Islamophobic news organizations.”
USA - A US defence official has said that North Korea appears to be preparing for a second intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test. Transporter vehicles carrying missile equipment were seen arriving in Kusong – the site of its recent ICBM launch – on Friday, the official told CNN. When such equipment is seen arriving, a launch can occur within the next six days, he added. It has been suggested that Kim Jong-un could order a new weapons test to mark the anniversary of the end of the Korean War on Thursday July 27, known as Victory Day. North Korea staged its first ever successful ICBM launch on Tuesday July 4, testing a missile capable of reaching Alaska.
CHINA - A formidable Chinese flotilla has travelled 10,000 miles for the show of strength with its ally Russia. Ten ships and the same number of aircraft descended on Europe’s border to take part in their provocative war games. Among the arsenal is the Chinese Type 052D guided missile destroyer Hefei, one of the country’s most advanced warships. And they have been joined by a Russian contingent featuring equally advanced hardware, including two Russian corvettes. Beijing made clear they were intent to impress by flaunting their military capabilities. Naval expert Li Jie said: “By sending its most advanced guided-missile destroyers, China is expressing its sincerity to Russia and also sends a strong signal to other countries who plan to provoke us.”
USA - Humanity is steamrolling toward a date with extinction, and yet most people have absolutely no idea that this is happening. Most of us like to think that we are part of the smartest, tallest and fastest generation in human history, but science has actually shown that the exact opposite is true.
