GERMANY - Now stronger and harder to ignore, the AfD will likely be an even more provocative opposition to the next government, hoping to best position itself to enter a coalition government in the 2029 election. Considering Germany’s history and the catastrophically failed attempt of Germany’s interwar Weimar Republic — which sought to tame Adolf Hitler’s political movement — the country’s “firewall” has long been one of Europe’s best enforced. However, the AfD’s formidable performance, as well as the endorsement of US political figures including Elon Musk, will contribute to a feeling of momentum for far-right parties in Europe, such as Marine Le Pen’s National Rally in France. Support for the AfD could surge if the new government fails to address grievances over migration, cost of living, and a stagnant economy.
AUSTRIA - The far-Right Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) has been blocked from government despite winning the country’s election. After five months of deadlock, the conservative Peoples’ Party, centre-Left Social Democrats and liberal Neos reached a three-party coalition agreement on Thursday for the first time in Austrian history. Christian Stocker, the conservatives’ leader, will become chancellor, and Andreas Babler, leader of the Social Democrats, vice-chancellor. With the so-called “firewall against the far-Right” just about holding – as it has done in neighbouring Germany – Herbert Kickl, the FPO leader, branded the arrangement a “coalition of losers” and called for a snap election. The FPO came out on top in September’s election with 28.9 per cent of the vote, although it did not win enough seats in parliament to form a government.
EUROPE - Key German industrial leaders have expressed their desire to see Russian gas return to Europe once a resolution to the Ukraine conflict is found, Bloomberg has reported. Chemical and manufacturing sector representatives argue that affordable energy is crucial for Germany’s economy to recover, the agency wrote on Friday. In 2021, Russian pipeline gas accounted for 32% of the total demand of the EU and UK, while Germany relied on Russia for 55% of its consumption, according to the European Council and Statista. Since cutting ties with Russian energy, the EU has turned to expensive LNG imports, primarily from the US. The shift has driven natural gas prices on the continent to their highest levels in two years, prompting discussions in Brussels about price caps. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has warned that soaring energy costs could cripple the EU economy.
USA - Donald Trump’s threatened 25% tariffs on EU imports could trigger “economic turmoil”, sharply push down growth and send inflation soaring, according to a German thinktank. The Kiel Institute said the US president’s promise on Wednesday that he would impose the levies “very soon” was a profound moment in the postwar relationship between Washington and Brussels and could prove to be an economic shock to both parties. German manufacturing exports to the US would be the worst hit, dropping by almost 20%, the institute added.
USA - We have a government that is literally fighting against itself. The federal workforce has always been more liberal than the population as a whole, but in recent years things have gotten really bad. Prior to this year, Democrats had been in control of the White House for 12 of the past 16 years. Over time, leftists that were hired for key positions just kept hiring more leftists underneath them. In fact, it got to a point where DEI policies at various agencies essentially institutionalized the systematic hiring of leftists. By the end of the Biden administration, leftist domination of most of our federal agencies was virtually complete. But now we have a new administration that most of our leftist federal workers absolutely detest. Many of them have absolutely no intention of cooperating with the new administration, and some of them have started to openly rebel against it.
VATICAN - The Vatican has tonight issued a fresh update on the health of Pope Francis a little more than a day after the Pontiff was put on a ventilator after suffering an 'isolated' breathing crisis. The Pope, 88, has not suffered any new respiratory attacks today and remains in a stable condition, the Vatican announced in its Saturday evening update. 'The Pope's clinical condition remains stable,' a statement read. 'He is alternating between non-invasive mechanical ventilation and long periods of supplemental high-flow oxygenation, maintaining a good response to gas exchange. The prognosis remains guarded.'
EUROPE - European conservatives reclaimed lost ground Sunday in Germany’s elections. Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democrats (CDU) and Alice Weidel’s Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) together garnered almost half of the country’s vote. CDU and AfD voters delivered a sharp rebuke to Berlin’s left-wing ruling coalition of Social Democrats (SPD) and Greens. Both the CDU and AfD reject Berlin’s globalist agenda of mass immigration and de-industrializing green energy policies.
ISRAEL - A recent episode of The End Time Show with hosts Vince Steall and Doug Norville has set prophecy watchers abuzz with speculation that the long-awaited Red Heifer ceremony may be on the horizon — perhaps even before summer. The discussion delved into the prophetic significance of this ancient biblical ritual and how it may set in motion major end-time events. With three perfectly unblemished red heifers still eligible for sacrifice, anticipation is mounting among those who study biblical prophecy. The timing is intriguing.
ISRAEL - The upcoming red heifer ceremony is a significant prophetic event believed to be a step toward the construction of the Third Temple. Despite differing opinions on its significance, the ceremony is moving forward, carrying deep implications for biblical prophecy. “With Trump being in office he’s accentuating what’s happening in a good way because prophetically, he’s coming in, taking over Gaza, the relocation of the Gazans, and now God’s calling more of the Jewish people back from around the world,” Locke says.
ISRAEL - Shabbat of the Red Heifer - Shabbat Parah for Hebrew Year 5785 begins at sundown on Friday, 21 March 2025 and ends at nightfall on Saturday, 22 March 2025. This corresponds to Parashat Vayakhel. Shabbat Parah (“Sabbath [of the] red heifer” שבת פרה) takes place on the Shabbat before Shabbat HaChodesh, in preparation for Passover. Numbers 19:1-22 describes the parah adumah (“red heifer”) in the Jewish temple as part of the manner in which the kohanim and the Jewish people purified themselves so that they would be ready (“pure”) to sacrifice the korban Pesach.
USA - Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Breitbart News that his conversations with leaders across the Middle East suggest a “strong desire” in the region to see expansion of the historic Abraham Accords, and that worldwide the planet is thrilled President Donald Trump is back in the White House, as the “world has been dying for” Trump’s “kind of leadership” again in Washington.
USA - American foreign policy is often built on illusions. One is that North Korea must not possess nuclear weapons. Of course, it developed them long ago. The only questions today are how many nukes will Pyongyang produce, and who will it target? The answers, unfortunately, almost certainly are “a lot” and “America.”
GERMANY - Sunday’s German elections, a rare snap poll in a country of fixed-term parliaments, saw the conservative CDU/CSU emerge as the largest party. The SPD, whose leader Olaf Scholz is the sitting chancellor, was relegated to third place. But most interest was focused on who came second, and why. Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) secured 20 per cent of the votes, the best performance by a far-Right party in Germany since the Nazis in 1933. It is for that precise reason that it will be excluded from the government when a new coalition is formed, once again comprising the CDU/CSU and the SPD, only with the former providing the chancellor in the shape of Friedrich Merz.
GERMANY - Because Germany is a multi-party federal system there have only been a few times when one party was able to gain a majority and govern alone. Friedrich Merz, the leader of the CDU and the most likely candidate for chancellor, will have to find suitable partners to form a government. With a weakened centre-Left SPD, at 16.4 per cent, the CDU will most likely form a “grand coalition” or “GroKo” with them.
USA - US President Donald Trump has claimed that the EU was designed to weaken America and has issued new threats of 25% tariffs on all imports from the bloc. Trump made the remarks on Wednesday at the White House during his first Cabinet meeting of his second term as president. The trade row between the US and the EU has been escalating since Trump announced plans to introduce a wide range of import duties in an effort to tackle what he describes as a trade imbalance. “Look, let’s be honest, the European Union was formed in order to screw the United States, that’s the purpose of it,” Trump told the meeting. “And they’ve done a good job of it. But now I’m president.” He reiterated that his administration plans to impose tariffs on EU imports “very soon.” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned the latest US tariffs, expressing “deep regret” over the decision. She said earlier this month that the levies on steel and aluminum “will not go unanswered.”
